The Story of Admitted: Self-Publishing With A Full-time Job During A Pandemic

After failing thrice to write a book in 2019, I self-published my first book, Admitted, with the help of 7 people in 8 months when I was not even thinking of writing a book.

This is the brutally honest story of what happened in those 8 months as Admitted went from a tiny shack to a beautiful skyscraper.

Expect to be greeted by a story filled with personal anecdotes, mistakes that turned into lessons, and powerful visuals (like the one above!). 💫

50% to Non-profit

This is a small way for me to give back through my work. 50% of whatever you pay me will go towards Room to Read (https://www.roomtoread.org/about-us/), a non-profit that aims to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. They work with primary schools to inculcate the habit of reading in students, and support girls to complete secondary education. :)

What is Admitted?

Admitted is an extremely visual 368-page non-fiction book on higher education. It is aimed at anyone who has a dream to study abroad. The book covers the end-to-end story someone goes through to get into their dream university and prepare to study abroad. Oh and also, it's fun to read! Find more about the book at: www.admittedthebook.com📗

A glimpse into Admitted :)

Who is Soundarya Balasubramani?

Hello there!

Soundarya is a 25-year-old author, course creator, and product manager who is now engaging in some playful illeism. She grew up in a suburb in Southern India called Pattaravakkam where she spent her formative years. Since graduating high school, she has taken on many avatars, including a chemical engineer, founder, blogger, consultant, shower-singer, wishful traveler, and avid experimenter. Show her some support by visiting www.bsoundarya.com or @thecuriousmaverick (Instagram). Thank you, wonderful reader! 💚

Yours truly :)

P.S. Lastly, if you're wondering who the brilliant designer of this short book is, look no further: Komal Telagavi is your girl. Reach out to her on @komal_telagavi (Instagram) before she is drowned with incoming requests. 😉
